17658 Fine English Violin by John Comins 1801

A fine and rare English violin by and bearing the original label of John Comins, December 3rd 1801. Comins was a pupil of William Forster and probably made many of the instruments labelled Forster judging by the standard of this work.

The two piece back of narrow figure, the varnish of a red brown colour.
